How It All Began
The Andes Hockey Project began with a simple belief: every player deserves the opportunity to reach their potential, regardless of where they come from or the resources available to them. As a sport that has given us so much, field hockey has the power to build confidence, create friendships and open doors. Yet, across the Andes and beyond, talented players and passionate clubs can face barriers that make it harder to access the equipment, guidance and support they need to grow. We saw an opportunity to turn our love for the game into something that could make a lasting difference.
What started as a passion for hockey grew into a mission to connect communities, share knowledge and create opportunities that extend far beyond the pitch. Through equipment donations, mentorship and collaboration with local clubs, we aim to help more players discover what is possible when they are given the right support. The Andes Hockey Project is about more than growing a sport; it is about breaking down barriers, bringing people together and ensuring that opportunity is not limited by circumstance. Our ambition is to help build a stronger, more inclusive hockey community across the Andes, one player, one club and one connection at a time.

The Field Hockey Equipment Market
The global field hockey equipment market is expected to grow, but not equally across regions. Europe and North America have more established markets, while South America is shown as a lower-growth region in the diagram. Nevertheless, Latin America’s market is forecast to grow by around 4% annually between 2024 and 2030, suggesting potential for expansion. The Andes Hockey Project aims to support this development by helping clubs access equipment, mentorship and resources.

High equipment costs, particularly for premium composite sticks, can limit access to field hockey in regions such as South America and Africa. The Andes Hockey Project aims to break down these barriers by redistributing equipment and supporting local clubs, making the sport more accessible to all.

Our Mission
The Andes Hockey Project is a passionate non-profit organisation dedicated to inspiring young athletes and growing the sport of field hockey across the Andes nations and beyond. We aim to build sportsmanship and confidence, while creating oppourtunities for people of all ages to grow both on and off the pitch.

The Bigger Picture
